A guide for you

Spiritual House Cleaning

Shipibo-Tradition Home Clearing Ritual

A gentle guide to the five steps of the clearing — what happens in each one, and how the whole process is kept calm, clear, and supportive.

  1. 01

    Intention Consultation

    Purpose

A 30-minute video call to learn about your home, your intentions, and what is ready to be cleaned and cleared.

    What we do

We talk through what you feel in your home — where the energy sits heavy, and what you’d like the clearing to support: protection, peace, a new beginning, release, or simply a fresh reset.

    To put you at ease

There’s nothing to prepare and no right way to feel. I’ll guide the whole conversation, ask gentle questions, and make sure you leave the call knowing exactly what comes next.

    A gentle practice

Before the call, write down three words for how you want your home to feel afterward — for example: peaceful, protected, bright.

  2. 02

    Preparation of the Space

    Purpose

From the intention call until I visit your home in person (about two weeks), you gently prepare your home — decluttering, cleaning, and making room to receive the work.

    What we do

You clear surfaces, open up space, and let go of what no longer serves you — giving special care to entrances, bedrooms, corners, mirrors, and any place that feels stagnant.

    To put you at ease

This isn’t about perfection. A home doesn’t need to look flawless to receive a cleaning. Small, steady preparation is more than enough.

    A gentle practice

Set out three boxes — Keep, Donate, Trash — and a fourth, Not Sure, so you’re never stuck deciding everything at once. And begin leaving your shoes at the door or just outside: a small, powerful switch that says “Ah… I’m home,” while keeping the outside world at the threshold.

  3. 03

    Light the Mapacho

    Purpose

We choose a time for me to come to your home and call in the mapacho — sacred tobacco — to carry the cleaning forward.

    What we do

From the moment I arrive, I’ll meet you outside. There, I pray your intentions — and all that I sense — into the mapacho, then carry it through your home to clear the heavy and dark energies it may hold. So that you and your family don’t take any of that on, I ask that you wait outside while I work, with all of the home’s windows and screen doors open wide.

    To put you at ease

You don’t need to perform or feel anything in particular. If anything feels intense, we slow down, explain, pause, or make the space quieter.

    A gentle practice

Before the clearing, set up a calm spot outside — a chair, some water, a shawl — where you and your family can rest comfortably while I move through your home.

  4. 04

    Home of Light

    Purpose

In my next ceremony, I sing for your home — to clean it, clear it, fortify it and fill it with light.

    What we do

After the in-home cleaning, I carry your home and your intention into ceremony, singing to lift what is heavy, strengthen protection, and fill the space with light.

    To put you at ease

Nothing needs to be done perfectly for this to work. Your home is held in prayer and song — you can simply rest and receive.

    A gentle practice

On the ceremony day, open a window, light a candle, set out fresh water, or sit quietly for a few minutes with this intention:

May my home be clean, clear, and filled with light.

  5. 05

    Integration

    Purpose

After the clearing, you tend the space with presence, beauty, and care — letting the work settle in.

    What we do

We close with simple ways to keep your home clear: fresh air, order, gratitude, music, prayer, smoke, sound, flowers, light, and small acts of care.

    To put you at ease

You’ll leave with simple next steps. Integration isn’t strict or fearful — it’s a gentle, ongoing relationship with your home.

    A gentle practice

For seven days, do one small thing each day — open the windows, clean a corner, light a candle, play soft music, bring flowers, or simply say thank you to your home.

May your home be clean, clear, and filled with light.
